The Anoka-Ramsey Community College Women's Soccer team claimed the 2016 NJCAA District D Championship enduring a long game to prevail on penalty kicks over College of DuPage on Saturday afternoon.
College of DuPage got on the board first with a goal in the 10th minute and took a 1-0 lead into halftime.
The Golden Rams knotted the score on a Rochelle Perzel goal in the 75th minute and the game went into overtime.
Neither team was able to score in the first or second overtime and the game proceeded to penalty kicks with Anoka-Ramsey prevailing 4-3.
This was the third straight year the District Championship has come down to penalty kicks.
Makayla Halford was fantastic in goal, saving seven shots.
Anoka-Ramsey advances to the NJCAA Division III National Tournament for just the second time in program history.
The National Tournament will be held November 10-13 in Toms River, New Jersey.
