The Anoka-Ramsey Women's Basketball team picked up a 73-41 win over MN North Vermilion on Friday night, and their Saturday tilt with MN North Mesabi was cancelled due to injury and illness within the Mesabi team.
The Golden Rams used a stifling defense to get the win over Vermilion, holding them to just 22.5 percent shooting and 4 of 28 from three.
Five players in double figures led a balanced scoring attack. Charis McKenzie scored 16 points to lead the way.
Destiny Casey added 15 points. Mariam Alowonle scored 14 to go with eight rebounds.
Anisa Longs tallied 13 points on 5 of 8 shooting.
Jada Lussier scored 10 points and had a team-high nine rebounds.
The Golden Rams improve to 8-1 overall.
